INTRODUCTION
The International Publishing Project is aimed at creating invaluable assets in the form of a library of talks rendered by Her Holiness Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. Talk content from this collection will be published through various mediums such as books, over the internet and other sources and made available to the world for all generations, including those to come.
An online encyclopedia of Shri Mataji’s talks is to be created on the Internet and made available to the whole world.
Topical extracts from Shri Mataji’s words, taken from hundreds of lectures, letters and interviews over the past 30 years, are to be assembled into a series of books and offered for sale to the general public through established publishing companies in various countries.
Each book will present Shri Mataji’s views and insights on specified subjects, often going beyond the level of content normally found in the introductory public program lectures.
This, of course, can only be achieved on the basis of accurate, verified transcriptions, and assembling a library of such transcriptions is our first priority. This will be achieved by subjecting each recorded lecture to a disciplined and rigorous transcription process to ensure that our Mother’s words are rendered as faithfully as humanly possible.
Those who accept our invitation to join the Transcription team will work to undertake these numerous transcriptions, first by individually listening to one of Shri Mataji’s recorded talks and typing it onto a Word document. Then they will work with another transcriber who will verify this transcript. The finished transcript will then be checked a third time by another team member.
It must be remembered that while we as Sahaja Yogis may produce these transcripts, ultimately Shri Mataji will be seen as the Author, and errors that we make could reflect adversely on Her or mislead readers. We on this project take full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of every transcript. We will therefore check and double-check all existing transcripts, regardless of source, against the actual audiotapes.
THE ONLINE ENCYCLOPEDIA
In this age of the internet boom, we plan to build an online encyclopedia of Shri Mataji’s talks available across the world. The content from her talks will be published over the web along with powerful search capabilities for performing topical searches and providing different views and methods of categorizing and accessing Her speeches.
THE TEN BOOKS
This project will proceed in three phases:
TRANSCRIPTION -- the assembly of an extensive electronic library of verified transcriptions of Shri Mataji’s talks
COMPILATION -- the selection, compilation and editing of material from this library, possibly linked with commentary, to create the ten proposed books.
PUBLICATION -- the preparation for, and subsequent publication and promotion of the books as they become ready. This includes copyediting, jacket design, writing jacket and marketing copy, typesetting of text, working with the printer, selling translation rights, etc.
Once the transcription library is well underway, the second phase of this project will begin. The current plan is to produce at least ten volumes of assembled extracts from Shri Mataji’s works, averaging around 100 pages, and each with its own particular theme. The working titles of the proposed books are:
An Introduction to Sahaja Yoga (Containing a selection of talks that provide an overview of H.H. Shri Mataji’s spiritual message.) NOTE: This book is already well underway, being undertaken by Richard Payment, of Canada.
The Keeper at the Gate (Innocence, spontaneity and wisdom, Shri Ganesha and Lord Jesus Christ)
How to be your own Guru (Adiguru Datatreya, the path to spiritual mastery, teachings of the ancient masters)
The Cool Fire (Kundalini and Self-realization)
The Inner World (The Subtle System and Chakras)
The Praxis of Transformation (Clearing Techniques, Balance, How to Meditate, How to Introspect)
The Enlightened Mind (The Buddha, Buddhism and Hamsa)
The Pantheon of Light (The Deities Shri Rama, Shri Krishna, Christ, the Goddess, Shri Hanuman, Shri Bhairava etc.)
Fortune and Misfortune of Religions (Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism)
A Day Book (Random quotes from Shri Mataji’s Talks)
The idea for this ambitious and extensive project was originally conceived and initiated by Grégoire de Kalbermatten, whose devotion to the work of Sahaja Yoga has inspired so many for over three decades. Grégoire is the distinguished author of two definitive books on the subjects of Sahaja Yoga and Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi: The Advent, and The Third Advent. Shri Mataji has been made aware of the plan to produce and publish this collection of excerpts from Her speeches and has given Her blessings to the project.
